Brain gym, specific to sophrology, as practised at the clinic, is a journey of self-discovery in movement, in experience, in sensations on waking in the morning.
‘Relaxation implies releasing unnecessary tension, whether physical or mental. It is conscious relaxation. It is active relaxation, in which one can participate and for which we call upon the consciousness of being’, we are the actors and observers of our experience.
Brain gym uses body-mind techniques: breathing and concentration exercises in which the patient is brought to listen closely to their body and to become fully aware of it, at their own pace. It is a way of redefining the notion of body image, through experience, feeling the body, experiencing it as it really is, without judging or thinking.
The ideas of positive action is also essential, ‘dynamising things with positive results to create a snowball effect’. Here we work on the breathing, stretching and anchoring movements specific to sophrology, from awakening of positive somatisation. The commitment of sophrology is to encourage expression of positivity, in favour of dynamisation of negativity.

- Management of difficult emotions.
